NEW YORK, NY — June 22, 2016 — Whole Foods Markets NYC celebrates 5% Day, donating 5% of net sales from eight stores in New York City to three inspiring not-for-profit foundations. The Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation (WHGF), a not-for-profit organization that provides free and low-cost quality gymnastics for inner-city youth based in Harlem, New York is thrilled to announce that they are one of the chosen charities. Additional recipients include Girl Be Heard and Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls.
The theme of this 5% Day is Girls of Our Future and Whole Foods Market NYC recognizes the impactful work that organizations like the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation are doing in the community, which is helping to build talent and personal growth of girls that will become leaders in athletics, entertainment, our communities, and companies—like Whole Foods Market. This is what inspired the theme of Girls of Our Future and we are excited to have Wendy Hilliard as a partner in the mission.”
